What You Get To Do
As a Construction Operations Manager for The Boldt Company, you will provide leadership and oversight for the successful delivery and execution of work on all construction projects within your Operating Group, Division or Office. You will work closely with the General Manager, Regional Safety leader, and project leadership teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality. You will ensure projects are performed in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) and Standard Work (SW). This role may be filled at a Vice President level as appropriate and provides opportunities to lead and influence construction teams to high performance. Responsibilities
Construction Operations – develop metrics for evaluating project performance across the Operating Group/Division. Collaborate with project teams to develop and monitor Construction Readiness Programs, including comprehensive production plans to meet or exceed project objectives. Guide project planning and manage the impact of the team on the supply chain for the scope of work. Supervise projects to meet customer, operational, and project objectives; serve as a resource for teams requiring improvement. Coordinate alignment and management of talent and physical assets; drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and create process improvements. Leverage technology and education to reduce costs and execution time; ensure proper staffing and resource allocation. Collaborate with other Operating Groups to foster OneBoldt culture; lead enterprise support and field operations for project execution; maintain effective communication with trade partners, sub-contractors, and field crews. Lead monthly Project Execution Assessments (PEA) and participate in corporate PEA reviews; support the office-wide safety program and SOP/SW implementation. Support labor relations efforts and maintain a culture of accountability at individual and team levels. People Leadership – develop long-term staffing plans and cultivate an environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion are core beliefs. Recruit, retain, develop, and educate the team; conduct performance reviews; reinforce Boldt values and virtues (Humble, Hungry, Smart, Reliable, Gritty). Model and promote a relationship-based contracting approach when interacting with team members and resolving differences. Business Development – identify new markets and opportunities; assist in business development and build relationships with customers; establish project communication plans to ensure regular customer touchpoints. What We Expect From You
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Design or related field. Ten years or more experience in Construction, Design, Scheduling, Cost Control, and Management. Technical expertise in how projects are constructed; ability to communicate with varied stakeholders from craft workers to customer executives. Understanding of project delivery including financial data, production planning, and lean process improvement; ability to build strong team relationships. Ability to apply innovative management techniques to inspire and empower teams; success comes from achieving results through others. Comprehensive understanding of Boldt and industry practices. A valid driver’s license may be required; MVR checks may impact participation in company vehicle programs. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to position objects, operate tools, and maneuver in confined spaces. Regularly remains stationary and may move to access people or machinery. May ascend/descend stairs or ladders; may lift up to 50 pounds. Travel to on-site construction locations is required. Visual abilities include close, peripheral, and depth perception. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work in varying conditions and may require use of PPE; environments may include loud noises and scents. Overtime and weekend work may be requested.
