Cybersecurity Architect

to support a mission-focused engagement. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact national programs while collaborating with agency leadership in a dynamic cybersecurity environment. Position Overview The Cybersecurity Architect will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and implementing enterprise security systems that safeguard federal IT networks. This role requires deep technical expertise across wireless networks, firewalls, IDS/IPS, LAN/WAN, SIEMs, and cloud integration strategies. The Architect will also lead and mentor a team of security engineers while applying NIST-based risk management practices to identify, assess, and mitigate information assurance risks. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to work effectively across technical teams and senior leadership.

This role is based on-site, in Washington, DC. The ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust level clearance is a condition of employment. Key Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and implement security systems across enterprise IT networks. Oversee integration of wireless networks, firewalls, IDS/IPS, LAN/WAN, SIEMs, and cloud security strategies. Manage and mentor a team of security engineers, ensuring best practices and compliance with federal security standards. Apply risk management techniques and perform risk assessments in line with NIST standards. Collaborate with senior management and staff to explain and enforce security measures protecting agency assets. Required Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of cybersecurity experience CISSP-ISSAP preferred, or CISSP certification required At least 10 years of experience in designing, building, testing, and implementing enterprise security systems Hands-on experience with: Wireless networks; Firewalls; IDS/IPS; LAN/WAN; SIEMs; Cloud integration strategies At least 5 years of experience managing a team of security engineers Strong teaching, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience applying NIST-based risk management techniques to assess and mitigate IA risks Ability to interact with personnel at all levels, including senior leadership, to drive adoption of security practices Salary Range:
