Senior Staff Data Scientist

to join our Product Integrity organization, which spans Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, Product Quality, Flight Test, and FAA Type Certification. This is a high-impact individual contributor role combining advanced analytics, data pipeline engineering, and structured problem-solving to strengthen product quality, regulatory compliance, and reliability. The ideal candidate can both

build systems that surface insights

and

lead root cause investigations

that drive corrective action and long-term improvement in hardware manufacturing environments. You’ll partner with Quality Engineers, Flight Test leads, Certification teams, and Operational leaders to solve important technical and regulatory challenges facing the business.

Core Requirements

Data Visualization & Pipelines

– Proven ability to design and maintain dashboards, quality metrics, trend analysis, and scalable data pipelines. Root Cause / Corrective Action Leadership

– Hands-on experience leading structured problem-solving efforts (8D preferred), with the ability to guide cross-functional teams through containment, analysis, and corrective actions. Domain Expertise

– Experience in

Quality, Hardware Manufacturing, and/or Hardware Quality , ideally in industries such as aerospace, automotive, or batteries.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain dashboards and pipelines that deliver trusted quality metrics, defect trends, and product reliability insights. Lead 8D root cause investigations, ensuring thorough analysis, effective containment, and sustainable corrective actions. Apply statistical analysis and modeling to detect risks, identify systemic issues, and improve manufacturing outcomes. Standardize metrics, classification systems, and lessons-learned repositories to strengthen continuous improvement. Communicate findings clearly and influence decisions across engineering, operations, and executive teams. Mentor peers and junior engineers in data analysis, visualization, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Drive measurable impact on outcomes such as defect reduction, cycle-time improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field (MS/PhD a plus). 7–10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied statistics, with a strong record of delivering measurable business impact. Deep expertise in SQL-based environments (Snowflake preferred) and Python for data analysis, pipeline development, and model implementation. Extensive experience developing data visualizations (Looker, Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, or equivalent). Strong background in statistical analysis, data modeling, and ETL pipeline development. Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, FTA, Kepner-Tregoe, Shainin, or equivalent). Direct experience with quality systems, ISO/IAQG standards, or hardware manufacturing environments. Demonstrated ability to communicate insights clearly and influence decisions across technical and executive teams. Success working in cross-functional teams and driving change in complex organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in aerospace, manufacturing, quality, or regulated environments. Familiarity with FAA certification processes, flight test data, reliability analysis techniques (e.g., Weibull modeling, survival analysis, telemetry interpretation). Experience building dashboards or tools for quality monitoring and risk detection. Knowledge of MLOps practices or productionizing models in operational settings. Exposure to lifecycle systems such as MES, QMS, PLM, or ERP.

Compensation & Culture

$153,600 - $192,000 . Actual compensation is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
