Base pay range
$230,000.00/yr - $280,000.00/yr We are seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Financial Systems to lead the design, optimization, and governance of Workday Financials and related platforms. As a senior leader within the Corporate Finance organization, this role will shape the long-term roadmap for financial systems, ensuring they scale with business growth, enable operational excellence, and drive actionable insights across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will bring deep Workday Financials expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to align technology capabilities with accounting, reporting, and operational needs. This leader will collaborate closely with Finance, HR, Payroll, IT, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and maximum business value from Workday and its connected ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership Define and drive the multi-year financial systems roadmap, aligning with corporate finance strategy and enterprise goals. Provide thought leadership on system governance, scalability, and optimization to support ongoing business transformation. System Oversight & Optimization Oversee configuration, enhancements, and process automation across Workday Financial modules including General Ledger, Procurement, Budgeting, and Reporting. Establish best practices for system lifecycle management, including upgrades, environment refreshes, and integrations. Monitor and improve system performance, security, compliance, and data integrity. Cross-Functional Partnership Serve as the senior liaison between Finance, HR, Payroll, IT, and external partners to ensure seamless cross-platform integration. Partner with business leaders to translate financial and operational requirements into scalable system solutions. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing financial systems team. Provide guidance to stakeholders on system functionality, reporting, and process changes. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team and across the finance organization. Operational Excellence Ensure system readiness for financial close and reporting cycles. Drive the development of custom reporting, analytics, and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making. Support the design and enforcement of internal controls and accounting procedures related to financial systems. Special Initiatives Lead large-scale system rollouts, integrations, and transformation projects. Represent Financial Systems in strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and business expansion activities. Skills and Qualifications
Proven expertise in Workday Financials across modules such as Financial Accounting, Payables/Receivables, and Budgeting/Planning. Significant experience in Workday implementations, optimizations, and post-production support. Strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision and short-term execution. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams. Demonstrated leadership in building and scaling high-performing teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Preferred Background
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience with Workday Financials, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Familiarity with core accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience in healthcare, services, or other complex, multi-entity organizations is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools. Seniority level
