Overview
Lead Power Systems Consultant – Siemens Grid Software (Remote, based in the contiguous U.S.). The Senior Power Systems Lead will perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for utilities, regional entities, and energy asset owners to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations, while mentoring others on the team. We are accelerating the energy transition with autonomous grid management and digital transformation for grid operators. Performing/leading consulting engagements related to power grid analysis and design, system dynamics and transients, system interconnection, and grid code compliance. Managing or supporting project execution, tracking progress, and adjusting scope, schedule, budget, and quality as needed. Producing reports and presentations with study results in collaboration with team members. Maintaining relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction, analyzing business requirements, and identifying opportunities for further work. Supporting proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines. Providing mentoring and technical development to junior consultants. Developing automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and boost efficiency. Delivering on-site consulting and training services. Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience performing power systems analysis for electric utilities, ISOs, RTOs, developers, or national labs; 5+ years preferred. Experience leading, mentoring, or developing others professionally. Experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSSE; TSAT, TARA, PSLF, or PowerWorld preferred. Good knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards with understanding of RTO and regional planning criteria, procedures, and practices. Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills for technical reports. Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally. Preferred qualifications
Prior relevant consulting experience. Experience in ISO-NE, PJM, and/or SPP regions. Experience in distribution planning. Industry experience performing power system transient analysis using PSCAD or EMTP-RV. You’ll benefit from
