The Director of Quality and Safety reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is matrixed to the Chief Medical Officer. Under general supervision and within La Rabida’s Hospital policies and procedures, the role develops, directs, coordinates, and evaluates comprehensive care transformation activities leading to core measure performance, physician peer review, and professional practice evaluation processes as well as addressing and investigating patient safety events and implementing corrective actions to enhance the culture of safety. This leader will guide the implementation and optimization of the quality and safety program and serve as the safety champion for the organization, defining and leading safety initiatives. What you will do

Lead a highly skilled team of quality and patient experience specialists focused on meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations. Oversee and review selected quality issues and guide staff to lead investigations of critical events. Lead clinical reviews with evidenced-based systems (ACA, RCA, FMEA) and facilitate corrective action plans; oversee and monitor as appropriate. Assist with development of reports submitted to regulatory and accrediting agencies (e.g., Department of Health, Joint Commission) as directed by the Director of Regulatory, Risk and Compliance. Oversee and review chosen quality and service issues and guide staff to initiate improvement efforts for optimized performance. Participate in Medical Staff department meetings and serve as a resource for internal and external peer review requirements. Coordinate and align core quality functions for quality and operational excellence and support the hospital's quality committee structure. Collaborate with hospital leaders to develop, measure, analyze, and implement process improvement initiatives using quality strategies scaled for efficiency and purpose. Manage clinical and patient safety data needs and lead teams toward successful improvement strategies. Develop customer service training for onboarding and ongoing training, including just-in-time curriculum content for new initiatives. Coordinate and support improvement tactics aligned with organizational priorities. Identify and share best practices and integrate them into existing systems; educate frontline staff and stakeholders on tactics and execution. Serve as a liaison to the Board Quality committee and to Medical staff departments for coordination of quality improvement actions involving patient care processes and physician processes; promote meaningful communication and performance improvement information. What we need from you

Bachelor’s degree in any science discipline, including Nursing (Required). Master’s degree in related healthcare field (Preferred). Licensed Registered Nurse (Preferred). Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent experience leading performance improvement projects (Preferred). CPHQ and CPPS (Preferred). Minimum five (5) years of related experience in quality measurement and reporting systems, physician peer review programs, and process evaluation/improvement. Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and analytics tools. Proficiency in Windows-based PC environments and statistics software used for analysis and graphing. Certification by the National Association for Healthcare Quality (Desirable). CPR Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred). Strong group facilitation and project management skills; ability to collaborate and lead project teams; solid written/verbal communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Experience with safety programs and launching a patient safety strategy; ability to develop and implement patient safety programs and promote a culture of safety. What you will receive
