Overview

The Consultant IV on the Kaiser Permanente Medical Foundation Consulting team partners with stakeholders across care delivery and support functions to advance Foundation and Market priorities. Work may range from a single service line or location to initiatives spanning multiple specialties or markets in primary care, hospital-based services, or specialty care, often collaborating with functions such as Health Plan, Quality & Safety, Compliance, Labor, and HR. The role supports leaders at all levels, frontline to executive, through the full project lifecycle, including strategy development, data analysis, fact finding, decision-making, planning, and execution. Consultants often manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously. While part of an internal team, the group operates like an independent consulting firm, offering objective perspectives and best practices, and adapting rapidly to changing priorities or complex challenges, while leveraging knowledge of the organization’s culture, processes, and systems. Preferred locations: Washington or Colorado. Job Summary: Serves as a consultant to ensure alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive the implementation of successful business initiatives and projects. Provides insight and supports the development and implementation of business initiatives, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state. Contributes to business strategy and supports organizational alignment and prioritization of business initiatives. Manages complex projects or project components, participates in and may lead change management activities, and performs data analyses in support of business initiatives. Supports vendor management as required. Monitors compliance of work activities by ensuring business plans and team members adhere to relevant policies and procedures. Essential Responsibilities

Serves as a consultant to ensure alignment, buy-in, and coordination of diverse stakeholders to drive the implementation of successful business initiatives and projects across one or more functional tracks or workstreams; builds rapport and partnerships with stakeholder teams, third party vendors, and senior management; develops goals and prioritizes deliverables; facilitates decisions necessary for delivery; communicates tough issues to stakeholders while maintaining an independent perspective; and makes formal presentations and reports to senior level audiences. Develops requirements for complex business, process, or system solutions within assigned domains by interfacing stakeholders and cross-functional teams; leverages multiple requirements gathering methodologies to identify business, functional, and non-functional requirements; develops and documents comprehensive business cases to assess costs, benefits, and ROI; leads team members in the development process as appropriate. Provides insight and supports the development and implementation of business initiatives, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state by mapping current state against future state processes; identifying operational impact of requirements on solution components; providing options and recommendations to management and stakeholders on integrating solutions and deliverables across regions or domains; identifying and validating value gaps and opportunities for process enhancements or efficiencies. Contributes to business strategy and supports organizational alignment and prioritization by defining, developing, and evaluating performance metrics, standards, and methods; collaborating with stakeholders to ensure cohesive metrics; refining strategic plans and performance metrics; managing assigned initiatives or portfolio to ensure measurable results and alignment with objectives. Advocates continuous learning and development by staying abreast of industry practices; attending events; contributing to ongoing enhancement of consulting practices and standards; providing training and guidance to stakeholders; and coaching to build a continuous improvement mindset. Manages complex projects by coordinating stakeholder contacts; allocating resources; developing and managing project plans; coordinating schedules and forecasts; monitoring risks and issues; developing mitigation plans; and escalating as appropriate. Participates in and may lead change management activities; engaging stakeholders to obtain support; communicating plans with alignment to business objectives; selecting appropriate change management approaches and fostering a culture of change. Performs data analyses to support initiatives by selecting analysis tools and methods; defining data requirements; conducting analyses and tests; and identifying risks through data-driven analysis. Supports vendor management as required by reviewing vendor performance, ensuring SLAs are met, and coordinating with Procurement/Legal to develop agreements as needed. Monitors compliance by ensuring plans and team members adhere to KP and related policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least five (5) years of experience in consulting, project management, data analytics, operations or a related field; or a Master’s degree in Business, Public Health, or a related field and at least three (3) years of experience; or at least eight (8) years of applicable experience.
