Lead design and scale-up of chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and manufacturing scales with emphasis on reaction chemistry and process control. Develop and maintain detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing systems. Design, execute, and analyze pilot-scale studies, driving process improvements and technology implementation. Validate and troubleshoot processes and equipment to enhance product yield, consistency, and quality. Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Marketing to ensure seamless technology transfer and manufacturability of new products. Apply in-depth chemical knowledge to develop safe, scalable, and sustainable manufacturing processes. Drive improvements in process throughput, efficiency, and cost reduction while maintaining or improving quality. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and inefficiencies. Use process simulation and modeling tools to evaluate scale-up approaches and predict process behavior. Monitor, analyze, and optimize process performance using statistical process control tools and techniques. Lead and contribute to cross-functional teams on capital projects, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support compliance with safety and environmental regulations and promote safety awareness. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and staff. Maintain strong documentation, including technical reports, validation protocols, and SOPs. Perform other duties and support global projects as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 11 years of experience in chemical process development, scale-up, or manufacturing (7 years with a Master’s). Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or willingness to obtain. Demonstrated expertise in reaction chemistry and complex process troubleshooting. Strong experience with P&ID development and interpretation. Competencies
