Overview
Director of Membership Sales role at Troon. Department: Sales and Marketing. Reports to: General Manager. FLSA Status: Exempt. The position involves developing and implementing marketing and sales programs to increase membership sales, retain existing membership, and represent the club with internal and external constituencies. About Westchester Hills Golf Club
Located in the heart of New York's Westchester County, Westchester Hills Golf Club is a family-friendly private golf club in the Gedney Farms neighborhood of White Plains. Founded in 1913, the club offers competitive golf tournaments, tennis, swimming, fitness, social events, dining, private functions, and more. The 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Peter Clark and later renovated by Rees Jones in 2022. The club also features a historic clubhouse, practice facilities, a Golf Shop, and an indoor Golf Performance Studio opened in 2024. Responsibilities
Maintains the club’s membership database and roster using the CRM system; keeps current membership certificate register, resignations, transfers, and contact information. Ensures that procedures for processing prospective members’ applications are followed; handles administrative processing of member applications and related reports. Plans and implements strategies to meet club membership goals. Processes membership requests and transfers; assists prospective members with application requirements. Conducts orientation programs for new members and promotes club activities and events. Develops and implements prospective member functions; coordinates referrals from active and new members to support recruitment. Determines target markets and implements programs to yield new members; develops and manages a sustainable Member Retention Program. Co-chairs Membership Committee and related committees to address member interests; conducts tours for prospective members. Follows up on telemarketing efforts, referrals, staff leads, catering contracts, publications, and other sources. Organizes production of membership kits and direct mail activities; researches market demographics for promotions. Provides sales training for staff; tracks and analyzes membership activities via CRM. Collaborates with management and committees to coordinate club social and golf activities; maintains club history files and exit interviews. Cooperates with Communications Department to manage public relations, newsletters, news and media events, and brochures. Attends management and staff meetings; performs trend analyses and provides recommendations to improve member services. Develops and manages departmental sales goals; monitors performance and takes corrective action to meet goals. Participates in professional development opportunities; reports approved new members to Accounting and other managers to initiate proper membership administration. Engages with local Chamber of Commerce, civic organizations, realtors, and officials for networking and marketing. Maintains confidentiality of all member information; assists during club operating hours and events to meet and greet members and guests. Performs other appropriate assignments as instructed by the General Manager. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; or 3-5 years of related experience. Experience with CRM, POS, and other standard software systems. Exceptional organizational skills; ability to multitask and maintain accuracy and neatness. Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to type at least 50 words per minute. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and speak English to perform job duties. Physical Demands and Environment
Typical office environment; may stand and walk occasionally; regular use of computer and office equipment. Noise level is moderate. No certifications or licenses are required. Application Information
