Principal Responsible Engineer I

Lead project engineering through all phases of the development process for external customers and internally driven projects. Apply experience in project management, quality assurance, manufacturing of electronic and mechanical assemblies, supply chain, and organization across engineering functions. Utilize practical engineering expertise to lead technical decisions with the project team and coordinate between engineering functional groups. Develop project schedules, budgets, risks, and provide regular reporting to program and company leadership. Coordinate activities across multidiscipline engineering teams and address program-level resourcing issues. Interact with customers as a technical leader and drive complex development programs to successful completion. Present engineering design review materials and status reports to customers and the executive team; participate in proposal-writing efforts. Maintain excellent written and verbal communication throughout the project lifecycle. Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution. 9 years of industry experience in a relevant engineering or project role. Expertise with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira. Technical leadership in communication systems, software defined radios, and systems of systems. Experience mentoring less experienced project and design engineers. Thorough understanding of space systems engineering processes from concept to production and the space system design life cycle. Experience driving complex electrical/software/mechanical development efforts to completion. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; high energy and a “get it done” attitude. Preferred Experience

Experience in space avionics and payload development. Experience designing electronic assemblies. Experience at a startup company. Experience with project management at an established company. Experience with both Research & Development and New Product Development projects. Experience managing projects for government and commercial customers. Salary
