The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Urologic Hospitalist to join the Department of Urology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Duties and Responsibilities

Performs surgical procedures where assigned. Provides direct and indirect patient care services in the inpatient setting. Interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; orders diagnostic tests and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications; documents all services and instructions in the medical record; educates patients and their families; maintains communication with referring physicians. Maintains accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Participates in peer reviews and audits to ensure high standards of care. Participates in hospital quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes in the urology department. Ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, and medical center committees and other service activities. Serves as preceptor and provides training for residents, fellows, students, and other health professions team members including advanced practice providers. Performs other duties and/or call assignments as defined by the Chair or designees. Requirements

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Licensed or license-eligible for the State of Ohio and DEA licensure. Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Urology. Qualify for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, faculty members, and other stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
