As a
Director, Corporate Reputation , the key responsibilities include: support the evaluation and integration of corporate reputation principles within Public Affairs, identify key reputation drivers, contribute to goal setting, and help develop actionable plans that align with broader organizational objectives.
Provide reputation-related insights and recommendations to Public Affairs Leadership, supporting alignment with organizational priorities.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support stakeholder engagement efforts that reinforce Gilead’s reputation and values.
Assist in the development and execution of crisis communication plans in partnership with senior leaders and communications teams.
Partner with Public Affairs colleagues and cross-functional teams to embed reputation principles into communications and campaigns.
Support content development and visibility efforts that elevate Gilead’s leadership voice in alignment with reputation goals.
Partner with the broader Strategy and Operations team to track and analyze reputation metrics, using insights to inform departmental strategies and continuous improvement.
Manage vendor relationships and project budgets to ensure alignment with Public Affairs priorities and efficient resource use.
Stay informed on industry trends and contribute to departmental efforts that support Gilead’s reputation and positioning in key policy and regulatory conversations, in collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
Contribute to crisis communication planning and execution.
Help support established clear priorities aligned with Gilead’s overall mission and goals.
Focus on innovation to identify and capitalize on emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities.
Support efforts with industry organizations such as PhRMA and BIO to ensure Gilead's voice is heard and aligned to reputational objectives.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in communications, or related field, business or a science-oriented field, with 12+ years of experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience with a graduate degree.
Experience supporting crisis communication planning and execution in collaboration with senior leaders.
Experience collaborating with internal teams and external partners to support stakeholder engagement efforts.
Demonstrated experience leading projects or small teams within public affairs, communications, or reputation management, or mentoring colleagues to support performance and development.
Experience managing or enhancing corporate reputations, preferred.
Key attributes include quick thinking, creativity, collaboration, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Experience supporting reputation campaigns across multiple markets or regions.
Ability to contribute to the development and execution of public affairs programs with an emphasis on reputation management.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams to align efforts toward shared goals.
Comfort interacting with senior leaders and peers to support reputation-related initiatives.
Familiarity with reputation measurement tools and ability to use insights to inform strategy and tactics.
Strong project management skills with experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
Prior experience in biopharma communications, advocacy, reputation and issues management required.
Understanding of the HIV and/or Oncology therapeutic areas preferred.
Experience working in global or cross-regional roles preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of regulations governing communications for a publicly-traded biopharmaceutical company.

Salary range: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. Eligible employees may participate in benefit plans, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
