Clinical Specialist I, CPT
in
San Diego, CA . As a member of the clinical support team, you will provide technical clinical expertise and support of the sales process to colleagues, current customers and/or potential customers. You will work under general direction with clinical and sales teammates to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by creating competency, comfort, and expertise with all Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies among physicians, support staff and customers within the assigned geography. The role involves a high degree of independence, requires independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work, and aims to continually improve territory efficiency.
What You’ll Work On
Provides technical, clinical, and programming assistance, primarily in support of 1-2 Territory Manager(s).
Assist Territory Managers in after-hours call support and activities.
Integrates into accounts, builds trust and relationships, and establishes strong rapport with customers.
Proficient in complex programming, case support.
Works seamlessly with Territory Manager(s) allowing them increased selling time.
Fosters high trust relationships with customers, including the regional team members.
Begin to conduct PCP work and educational in-services, as directed.
Contact, visit, and engage clients and potential clients in the Company’s products and addresses any client questions and concerns as directed by the sales manager.
Provide medical professionals with sales support, information, and training on the use of Company products and with staff education, in-services, and technical troubleshooting.
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned accounts and customers including competitor activity.
Conduct evaluations and develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities within accounts.
Collect and study information about new and existing products and monitor competitor activity.
Provide feedback to providers on directions for use specific to implantable devices, both in and outside the operating room setting.
May attend trade shows and conferences to meet other sales representatives and clients and discuss new product developments.
Use clinical expertise to identify customer training and in-service needs to increase product usage and comfort with Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies.
Comply with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
Provide sales support, clinical in-services, training, and guidance to current or potential customers.
Maintain positive and cooperative communications with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Performs other related duties as assigned and travel up to 25% within or outside the assigned region.
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree or technical certification; preferred Bachelor’s Degree.
1 - 2 years’ work experience, with strong preference for collaboration with patients in a clinical setting.
Ability to communicate, understand and educate about clinical data in the Chronic Pain Therapies space.
Strong clinical skills.
Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
Excellent interpersonal verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels and to large groups.
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal/external customers.
Ability to work a potentially unpredictable schedule due to operating room changes or delays.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks; strong sense of urgency.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse environment, both as part of a team and independently.
Ability to engage customers in selling conversations as needed and as directed by the Territory Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
Patient interaction experience within health care-related environments (Physical Therapy, medical product sales, RN, LPN).
Experience in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model.
1-3 years’ experience with Abbott, or in a similar spinal cord stimulation (SCS) setting or with another implantable medical device company.

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
