MedStar Health is looking for a CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. General summary of position includes operating diagnostic equipment to produce CT images, explaining the process to patients, interviewing for medical history, instructing patients in positioning, and administering contrast media per protocol. This role includes joining one of the largest healthcare systems in the Baltimore-Washington metro region. Note:
Now offering a limited-time $10,000 sign-on bonus. Responsibilities
Prepares patients for scan, reviews orders and exam history, and positions patients on the scan table. Establishes IV site for contrast infusion and administers oral, rectal, and IV contrasts. Consults with Radiologist prior to IV contrast bolus injections and monitors patients during injection for evidence of contrast reaction. Enters patient and exam data into the radiology information system and performs CT scans. Prepares reports and maintains records of service rendered, verifies billing and quality assurance, and completes incident and anesthesia records when necessary. Reports technical problems to the supervisor or senior technologist. Assists Radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages. Informs Radiologist of scan results when abnormalities are visible. Schedules patient exams and revises daily schedules to accommodate emergency exams. Cleans and maintains an aseptic environment for each patient. Films CT scans and archives exams onto appropriate media. Ensures adequate supplies are available and replenishes supply levels. Assists in training and orientation of new employees and students. Completes required information system functions to ensure proper patient information, billing, and exam data are correctly entered and maintained. Qualifications
Associate degree or one to three years of formal training in Radiologic Technology. Completed competency-based training in CT. 1-2 years of related job experience. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) registration. Basic Life Support (BLS). This position has a hiring range of $39.25 - $64.71. Employment details
