Scope of leadership role The North America Motors & Drives division, a $1B global business with 6,000 associates within the Power and Efficiency Solutions (PES) Segment, seeks a

Director of Product Management

for the Motors Business Unit. This is a critical role in creating and driving a growth-focused product strategy.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Motors and Drives division, this role will develop and execute product line roadmaps that enable sustainable differentiation and balance investments in core products through identifying new product development in the top 20% of customers or markets. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams (product development, sales, marketing, finance, and business leadership). The Director will drive activities to maintain high customer satisfaction and grow market share through purposeful innovation.

This role also entails developing a team of product managers and specialists who thrive in a dynamic environment, with emphasis on talent assessment and development, applying the 80/20 framework, and driving cultural transformation within the division.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management

Manage the entire life cycle of the Motor product lines within the division, from strategic planning and product definition to tactical launches, share growth, and end-of-life management.

Run the Motors product families as a profit and loss (P&L) with accountability for growth and margin attainment.

Assess market competition by comparing the company’s products to competitors’ and implement countermeasures where appropriate.

Coordinate and lead ongoing Innovation and VOC exercises; combine with business-case analysis to define requirements and value proposition.

Develop and implement cohesive short- and long-term product line roadmaps for Motors platforms.

Act as the internal voice of customers across development teams (Engineering, Sales, Marketing) through understanding market requirements, product definition, training, and launch activities.

Introduce new products by analyzing requirements, developing customer-valued propositions, performing ROI analyses, and coordinating schedules across engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing.

Develop pricing strategies and manage the team to drive profit and sales.

Develop core messaging and positioning for all Motors products based on the established value proposition.

Drive the Regal Rexnord Business System, including 80/20 and Continuous Improvement in all aspects of product management and decision making.

Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing specifications and requirements and evaluating new ideas or changes.

Develop controls and review KPIs aligned to planned objectives.

Talent Management

Lead and mentor multiple direct reports to be responsible for growth, voice of customer, innovation, and product line simplification.

Develop a high-performance team by engaging, coaching, and developing team members on application information, product initiatives, and the 80/20 framework. Drive accountability and ownership at all levels.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing learning and professional networks.

Professional Experience / Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.

Minimum 8 years of commercial, product or marketing experience with highly engineered products in a complex B2B industrial manufacturing enterprise.

2+ years of leadership experience with increasing responsibility.

Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM (Salesforce.com or Microsoft Dynamics).

Ability to digest commercial transaction data to manage product families and identify trends/issues (Power BI).

Strategic thinking and tactical execution with a passion for technology, innovation, and customer engagement.

Willingness to travel at least 30% domestically and internationally as required.

Relevant industry experience in Food & Beverage, Materials Handling/Conveying, or Industrial Equipment spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree (MS Engineering, MBA, etc.).

Experience in Agile Product Management teams.

Experience with NPD stage-gate and/or portfolio management software.

Hands-on experience with the 80/20 process and product line simplification.
