Overview In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. You will drive the expression and adoption of Material User Experience (UX) across all Web apps in Google’s product ecosystem and directly impact how all users experience Google products on the web.
Responsibilities
Define the future goal and strategy for the Material Web design system, including which product changes to pursue and which web frameworks to support.
Create the product roadmap, lead execution and delivery to client teams, and work with the engineering teams to scale impact and update the development approach using AI.
Work with Material Android and iOS Product Managers, Engineering, and UX to ensure a cohesive, aligned strategy across all platforms, and collaborate with partnership teams to build an effective Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy for Web.
Collaborate with key Google first-party product teams to grow adoption of Material Web for Google ecosystem users.
Work with the research and design teams to gather feedback and identify priority areas of investment.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role; 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch; experience in leading development of web apps/products; experience with UI frameworks and design systems.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in a technology or business related field; 5 years of experience in technical product management involving setting strategic direction and aligning cross-product/cross-team roadmaps in complex, multi-stakeholder spaces; experience in developing Web applications or UI using AI driven tools; knowledge of Web development frameworks and platforms; knowledge of designers and developers as users; ability to effectively communicate ideas, technical challenges, and design rationale to executive stakeholders and cross-functional leaders in complex environments.
