Summary The Field HEOR Scientist is a field-based position within the US Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) organization. The role engages Access organizations and decision-makers in the assigned territory, combining HEOR technical knowledge with an understanding of the US healthcare system to deliver data that supports medication access decision-making. Territory: Northeast US (NY, MA, PA, NJ, CT, RI, NH, VT, ME).
Responsibilities
Conduct health economics and outcomes research as part of a cross-functional matrix team in an internal-facing role, and lead medical interfaces with key access customers in a field-facing role.
Collaborate on development and implementation of US HEOR strategy, plans, and research.
Work with home office medical teams to develop, interpret, and disseminate data assessing the medical value of BMS assets; execute all phases of the research process.
Direct research strategy to address key questions in the healthcare marketplace using payer insights, in alignment with Company policies and home office medical matrix teams.
Lead Health Economics and Outcomes Research for assigned therapeutic areas.
Focus field activities on specific accounts (regional managed care and key IDNs) to facilitate patient access, medical policy, coverage, and reimbursement for BMS assets.
Develop sustainable customer relationships and discuss scientific, health economic, epidemiology, and quality of life information.
Collaborate closely with commercial Account Executives, MSLs, and home office medical teams.
At Director level, lead projects/initiatives impacting the broader field HEOR and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Doctoral trained professional (PhD, PharmD, MD) with emphasis in health services research, health economics, public health, or related field. A Master’s degree with relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum five years of experience in pharmaceutical, managed care, or consulting with a focus on Market Access and HEOR across the research process.
Demonstrated expertise in HEOR; publication list preferred.
Ability to understand, interpret, and make recommendations on the US healthcare marketplace and comparative effectiveness research.
Proven ability to build customer relationships and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Flexibility to travel; driving a company-provided vehicle is required.
