Perkins & Co
Overview
We are looking for a seasoned senior tax manager to join our growing business tax team. This practice focuses on closely held family groups and their individual owners. If you are a bit of a generalist who leans toward flow‑through entities and understands how they flow through to a 1040, this could be your role.
Work arrangement : Our tax and audit teams may be spread across the country, but they work together seamlessly. We have not had an RTO mandate. We would love for this position to be situated locally to the Portland or Seattle market, since you will be working with local business leaders.
Location flexibility includes Portland, with assistance to relocate if moving from another area.
Culture : Perkins to a people‑first culture that respects your time and supports a sustainable career. We provide a balance between clear expectations and manageable workload to avoid burnout.

Lead tax engagements for closely held entities, focusing on flow‑through structures and related 1040 implications
Review complex returns (primarily forms 1120, 1120S; some 1065 and 1040); prepare provisions, consolidated returns, multi‑state returns, and ASC 740 calculations
Manage partnership basis adjustments and due diligence on buy/sell M&A activity; advise on reorganizations, 382/383 issues, E&P, and liquidation distributions
Advise on foreign reporting requirements (Form 5471, 5472, FBAR, 8865, 1042) as needed
Provide leadership in client relationships, supervise project teams, and contribute to collections management
Mentor staff, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement in tax processes and technology
