The Chief Financial Officer directs the financial and other departmental activities in accordance with defined hospital policies and objectives. Responsibilities include management of all financial departments, allocation of resources, and preparation of the annual budget. Departmental responsibility typically includes Accounting, Reimbursement, Managed Care, Health Information, and Utilization Review. Functions at an executive level in an active leadership role. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible to the Hospital CEO, and maintains business relationships with the Division CFO, Hospital CEO, COO, and CNO. What you will do in this role:

Lead analysis to reduce hospital operating costs and increase revenues based on market trends, financial reports and operating procedures. Direct the preparation of internal financial reports, ensuring they reliably reflect the hospital’s financial position. Direct the timely submission of all financial data and reports required by government and regulated agencies, including payroll tax reports, public disclosure reports, and third party payor cost reports. Identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and make recommendations for action. Assist the CEO in developing long and short-range hospital operations plans and analyses of service demand, resources, productivity, and capital/staff expansions. Develop long and short-range operational and capital budgets aligned with the hospital’s plans and objectives. Direct the preparation of hospital statistical reports, budgets, and financial reports. Administer general accounting, patient business services, third party reimbursement, financial, and statistical reporting in accordance with policies and procedures. Provide informal direction in data processing, distributed systems, materials management and medical records; monitor performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled. Forecast financial impact of business decisions and expected outcomes. Monitor financial and economic information to identify trends that may impact operations, planning, investments, etc. Communicate financial and operational performance with stakeholders, including senior administration, facility staff, and Division Office. Review denials issues and trends to maximize net reimbursement; maintain accuracy of the charge master. Review contracts and financial arrangements to ensure profitability alignment with business goals. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Master’s degree preferred 4+ years of experience in a Hospital Controller, Asst. CFO, or VP of Finance role preferred Certified Public Accountant preferred Medical City Denton is a 239-bed facility serving North Texas.
