Overview
Technical Team Lead role at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) in the Digital Modernization department. The Technical Lead position leads teams of senior engineers responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of proprietary applications and systems designed and built to support WMATA's passenger rail system. Responsibilities
Work with WMATA management and stakeholders to implement upgrades and changes, as needed, to the applications and projects under the team's purview while also providing guidance for their constant but stable growth towards cutting-edge technologies. Review proposals for upgrades, changes and projects to determine time frames, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources. Lead post-mortems to improve efficiency and processes. Maintain a deep understanding of software development (SDLC), cloud environments, networking, systems administration, SQL and Oracle databases, and systems integration. Lead teams that operate in an Agile/Kanban environment with emphasis on thorough testing to deliver stable, defect-free applications. Ensure up-time and accuracy of the team’s systems; encourage experimentation with new technologies and innovative solutions to complex problems. Be available for on-call assistance during off-hours when expertise is needed to solve serious system issues (transit experience is a plus). Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science with Programming, and Web Application Development. Nine (9) years of experience with concentrations in one or more of the following technologies: .Net 4.5 or higher, C#, C++, VB, Web APIs, SharePoint Enterprise 2010 or higher, SQL Server 2012 or higher, Oracle 10 or higher, 11g, Linux servers, and related technologies (e.g., QlikView, ODBC, OLEDB, AJAX, JSON, SMOD, XHTML, XSL, XML, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular, Bootstrap, SOAP, REST). Preferred Certifications
SharePoint 2010, 2013, or 2016 Certification MCS and MCDA Other Requirements
On-call availability for off-hours when required to solve system issues. Transit experience is a plus. Medical and Other Requirements
Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations. Summary

In addition to hands-on support, the incumbent guides, leads, mentors, facilitates, and coordinates the direction of a group of technical staff members in ongoing technical operations support planning and maintenance as well as project delivery.
