The Senior Project Manager reports to the Director. Responsible for the overall success and financial performance of the assigned project(s). Manage and oversee all aspects related to project management, financial performance, tracking, forecasting, scheduling and change order management. Establish and maintain outstanding customer relationships. Ensure project goals are met. Execute best practices and adhere to policies and procedures. Essential Job Functions
Financial Acumen. Full responsibility of the financials for the Project. Understand costs, revenue, billings, projections, margin, gains, fades, commitments, AR, AP, etc. Analyze performance metrics and implement corrective action with the team. Estimating and Change Orders. Proficient in project estimates and change order estimates. Identify scope and scope gaps. Coordinate vendor and sub quotes and scopes. Negotiate change orders with customers. Schedule. Proficient in scheduling of our work and integration with the GC’s schedule. Experience with pull planning. Use scheduling software (Microsoft Project, P6). Understand work breakdown structures. Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to meet deadlines and align manpower with budgets. VDC and Preconstruction. Experience with preconstruction processes, VDC projects (2D and 3D modeling), prefabrication and kitting. Experience with Trimble Total Station or similar technology. Work with the VDC team to align goals with Operations. Leadership. Identify roles, provide feedback and training opportunities, develop talent, and manage Customers, Vendors, Subcontractors and team. Collaboration. Regular communication with peers inside and outside the region. Process and Procedures. Comfortable with documented processes and using technology platforms for financials and project management. Networking. Establish and maintain customer relations, balance protecting the company with client relationships, attend events. Intangibles. Delegate effectively, hold productive meetings, foster positive relationships, promote culture, pursue continuous improvement and personal growth. REQUIRED 7+ years as a Project Manager (or 3+ years as a Senior Project Manager) on commercial electrical work Proven experience managing electrical construction projects over $10M Experience preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders Ability to work independently and in a team Strong computer skills and quick to learn new systems Commitment to continuous improvement of communication, organization and leadership Effective scheduling and delegation to meet deadlines Tactful conflict resolution and problem solving abilities Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering, etc.), or an appropriate combination of certification(s), experience and education (journeyman or master electrician’s license) Benefits
