Overview
Reliant Care Management Company - The Mobile Director of Nursing (DON) is a dynamic and experienced nurse leader responsible for providing interim leadership, support, and clinical oversight to skilled nursing facilities across multiple locations. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives quality improvement initiatives, and supports nursing teams during times of transition, crisis, or leadership vacancies. The Mobile DON collaborates closely with facility administrators, nursing teams, and regional leadership to maintain continuity of care and promote best practices in resident care. Key Responsibilities
Provide interim leadership as the acting Director of Nursing at assigned facilities as needed. Assess and stabilize nursing operations during leadership transitions, regulatory challenges, or staffing shortages. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations and standards of care. Assist facilities with preparation and response to state surveys and audits. Monitor quality metrics, develop action plans, and support implementation to improve clinical outcomes. Mentor and train facility nursing leadership and staff on clinical best practices, documentation, and company policies. Participate in facility and regional leadership meetings as a clinical resource. Provide support during crisis management situations including infection control outbreaks or major clinical incidents. Travel frequently to assigned facilities within the region or company footprint. Actively participate in the onboarding of new Directors of Nursing. Report clinical concerns and progress regularly to regional and executive leadership. Qualifications
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state(s); multi-state licensure preferred. Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care, including prior experience as a DON. Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey processes, and infection control protocols. Proven leadership, team-building, and staff development skills. Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and effectively manage multiple facilities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time and respond to urgent needs with flexibility. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a multi-facility or regional capacity. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Must be able to travel between facilities by car or air as required. Ability to work in clinical settings including long-term care and skilled nursing environments. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays based on facility need. Benefits
