Overview
Capital One’s Treasury team is seeking an Accounting Manager to join the group. The Treasury Accounting team blends the disciplines of application support, application enhancements, and process innovation. The team is responsible for creating and sustaining business process automations, analytics, and reporting deliveries, partnering with several accounting lines of business to achieve their automation goals. In this role, you will lead Treasury Accounting activities, overseeing the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, account reconciliations, and various financial reports, and you will provide input for daily accounting tasks to ensure data integrity. You will drive automation, analytics, and efficiencies within the Controllers value stream, applying your Finance and Accounting background and analytical skills to address Controllers challenges. The role involves using tools such as Python and SQL to improve day-to-day processes, communicating with partners and leadership, shaping priorities through data analysis, metrics, and process rationalization. You will collaborate with the Treasury Accounting group to implement or update automations for the future state post subledger implementation and provide subject matter expertise on project implementations.
Responsibilities
Communicate and present data to management by developing and sustaining reports using Business Intelligence tools. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, account reconciliations, and various financial reports. Define requirements, validate content, and solve business problems; frequently using automation tools to drive efficiencies. Determine areas for process optimization through independent data analysis or in response to partner and leadership requests. Focus on continual growth in a wide variety of automation tools. Identify opportunities to use data to develop new strategies and improve business performance, applying knowledge of financial systems and accounting/finance backgrounds for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Continually learn about new technologies and how to apply them in the role. Partner with the Treasury Accounting group to implement or update automations for the future state post new subledger implementation. Provide accounting/financial services subject matter expertise on project implementations and develop new automations of existing manual processes. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or military experience. At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, or a combination. Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of experience in accounting. 5+ years of experience in financial services. 2+ years of experience analyzing data with Python, SQL, Tableau, or a combination. 2+ years of experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Financials, SAP, Workday Financials, or a combination. 1+ year of experience working with SimCorp in an accounting capacity. Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Accounting. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700; Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600. Other locations follow the posted ranges. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
