IT Manager – Office IT & Developer Support (Unreal Engine 5 / Game Development)

Overview
We’re looking for an
IT Manager
who can own the
day-to-day IT operations
of a partially remote AAA game studio. This role is about making sure the team—onsite and offsite—has the fast, reliable tools and infrastructure needed to build and ship a large-scale soccer game in Unreal Engine 5.
You’ll be the point person for
office networking ,
workstation builds , and
IT resource management , ensuring developers never lose momentum due to technical issues.
You’ll Work On
Designing, building, and maintaining
developer PCs
optimized for Unreal Engine 5
Managing internal IT systems:
Wi-Fi ,
LAN ,
VPN ,
firewalls ,
security policies
Ensuring
network speed ,
uptime , and
reliability
across the office and remote connections
Provisioning and maintaining
local Perforce servers
for source control (with backups)
Setting up and maintaining
shared resources
like NAS storage, printers, and local servers
Supporting the dev team with workstation setup, OS/driver troubleshooting, and hardware upgrades
Coordinating secure access for remote developers and contractors
Monitoring hardware performance, bandwidth usage, and IT bottlenecks
Occasional cluster/server support for rendering, Incredibuild, or local automation jobs
Requirements
5+ years in IT management or systems administration (game studio experience a big plus)
Proven experience
building and supporting high-performance PCs
for 3D/game dev
Strong knowledge of
LAN/Wi-Fi administration , VPN setup, and security best practices
Experience managing
Perforce
or similar version control in a local/on-prem environment
Hands-on with Windows and Linux server administration
Excellent troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, and networking
Bonus Points
Familiarity with Unreal Engine build/test pipelines
Experience with distributed compilation tools (Incredibuild) or Jenkins automation
Comfort supporting hybrid teams (in-office + remote devs)
Passion for soccer or sports games
This is a
hands-on IT leadership role : you’ll be the one who keeps the
network fast, PCs powerful, and infrastructure reliable
so the entire dev team can focus on building the game.
