What You’ll Work With

When you join Arista as part of the Systems Engineering team, you’ll become part of a team of industry experts and technical leaders. You’ll report to the Regional Systems Engineering Manager and collaborate with skilled networking engineers. You will work with Product Management and Software Development to steer product developments, offerings, and strategic direction to serve customers and prospects, supported by Arista TAC, Professional Services, proof-of-concept resources, and the executive team. What You’ll Do

As a critical member of the Arista Systems Engineering team, you will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, gathering requirements, qualifying opportunities, and designing solutions with existing and new customers in Northern California. Collaborate with Arista Account Managers to understand enterprise and commercial clients and conduct whiteboard network architectural designs to develop solutions that improve network performance, efficiency and customer TCO. Present Arista Data Center Networking and Cognitive Campus (including Wi-Fi), CloudVision (Network Automation), Security (Network Detection), Endpoint Security (NAC), and Real-time network observability solutions. Use expertise in network design and implementation, including leaf-spine architectures and overlay technologies such as VXLAN and EVPN, to create scalable Arista Data Center and Campus network solutions for enterprise and commercial clients in the region. Work with the customer and Arista proof-of-concept team to validate Data Center and/or Campus network designs and deployments using the latest Arista solutions. Offer design guidelines and work with Arista Professional Services to provide recommendations and turn-key solutions balanced with proven Arista Validated Designs to meet client needs and optimize their network infrastructure. Collaborate with the sales team to respond to RFP/RFQs and provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering. Help ensure Arista network solutions meet client needs in the region and contribute to product development through feedback and thought leadership. Represent Arista at SDN and other Open Networking industry events and conferences to build awareness and promote Arista’s network solutions. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in networking technology, including competitive solutions, products, and services. Author and collaborate on customer and sales-facing content showcasing your expertise in network design and implementation. Qualifications

Network Industry Certification, such as ACE-L4, ACE-L6, ACE-L7, and others. Minimum of 5 years of experience in L2/L3 networking design and implementation with a focus on Campus and Wi-Fi solutions, then Data Center. Expert-level experience with routing and switching, including 802.1x and NAC integrations plus PoE; overlay technologies such as EVPN/VXLAN are a plus. Hands-on experience in designing campus and leaf-spine network architectures. Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer. Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, 802.1x and QoS. Good understanding of the competitive technology landscape, specifically Cisco and Juniper. Expert-level knowledge of the industry-standard CLI. Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible is highly desired. Strong writing skills and ability to create informative white papers on technology and products is highly desired. Local to the area. Compensation

The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $131,000 to $184,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location. The actual base pay offered will reflect a range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The pay range shown reflects base pay only; some roles may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity. US-based employees may participate in the Sales Incentive Plan with commissions.
