We are seeking a
Unified Communications Engineer
to join our Enterprise Communications Services 3 (ECS3) program supporting mission-critical operations for a premier intelligence customer. This role involves designing, deploying, and managing unified communications solutions across a highly secure enterprise environment. You will lead technical refresh projects, platform upgrades, and the integration of emerging UC technologies, helping modernize how communication services are delivered across multiple operational locations. Key Responsibilities
Engineer and deploy VoIP, SIP, and cloud-based UC platforms, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Lead and contribute to major technical refresh efforts and modernization initiatives. Collaborate across engineering, network, vendor, and security teams to ensure seamless UC integration. Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and escalation resolution for UC-related incidents. Draft SOPs, update knowledge bases, and provide user-focused documentation and training materials. Apply upgrades, patches, and security protocols to ensure compliance with DoD/NIST standards and STIG requirements. Implement and maintain UC monitoring solutions to track system performance and availability. Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for junior staff on UC implementation and best practices. Lead or support project management tasks associated with UC deployments, refresh cycles, and service optimizations. Provide technical leadership and function independently, especially in remote or field environments. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph. Proven experience in Cisco UC environments including CUCM administration and IOS upgrades. Strong understanding of network administration and UC integration. IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE). Solid troubleshooting skills, with ability to perform detailed root cause analysis. Strong written communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. ITIL v4 Foundations certification. Experience working in mission-driven environments with DoD or Intelligence Community stakeholders. Familiarity with encryption, NIST guidelines, STIGs, and DoD compliance requirements. Experience with UC monitoring tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow). Salary / Benefits Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope and responsibilities, experience, education, location, and contract considerations.
