Your Role
We are seeking a
Project Architect with 5+ years of healthcare experience
to join our San Jose office. This role will be instrumental in delivering healthcare projects for various healthcare clients in the Bay Area and beyond. You will leverage Gensler’s firmwide network of healthcare expertise while bringing your own hands-on experience with HCAI (formerly OSHPD) approvals, healthcare planning, and technical delivery to drive project success. What You Will Do
Lead documentation, coordination, and delivery for healthcare projects, ensuring compliance with HCAI (formerly OSHPD) standards Manage all aspects of consultant coordination including structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil, and specialty disciplines Provide project code and accessibility reviews, preparing reports for team and client use Serve as a primary liaison with building and permitting officials during design, permitting, and construction phases Guide teams in documentation standards, constructability, and interpretation of healthcare codes Prepare and maintain complete project documentation including construction drawings, specifications, and manuals Conduct site observations, document reviews, and manage submittals, RFIs, and substitutions Mentor emerging talent within the studio Your Qualifications
5 to 15 years of professional architectural experience, including direct work on healthcare projects Licensed Architect in the State of California Proven experience navigating HCAI (formerly OSHPD) processes and approvals Demonstrated success resolving complex technical and design challenges in healthcare environments Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes and healthcare regulatory standards Proficiency in Revit is required, strong knowledge of AutoCAD expected Familiarity with SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across clients, consultants, and teams Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality, coordinated documentation Strong communication and relationship management skills, including the ability to work effectively within a range of team compositions Ability to effectively support multiple projects Strong preference for experience designing for wellness For more information about our Health sector, please visit: https://www.gensler.com/expertise/healthcare Compensation
The base salary will be estimated between $100,000- $135,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience. Life at Gensler
