Washington, DC Responsibilities

Track environmental regulations, permitting and policy at the Federal and State level, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, NEPA, Endangered Species Act, the Reclamation Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and the Federal Land Policy and Management Act Draft and contribute to formal regulatory submissions and policy summaries Oversee and guide policy interaction with environmental associations and relevant membership organizations Engage on environmental policy priorities and advance the company through agency meetings, legislative proposals, administrative and regulatory actions, and guidance Integrate and communicate feedback from environmental subject matter expertise to federal affairs teams, legal teams and business groups on relevant environmental policies, including permitting, wildlife, land management and conservation, and climate analysis Represent NextEra Energy externally on environmental and sustainability issues and explain technical information Support multiple projects with multifaceted environmental and regulatory issues and management experience Lead the initiatives and team for NextEra's Environmental Foundation donations, including stewardship and conservation efforts, sustainability and electricity sector concepts, products, and services to regulatory and business decision-maker audiences Congressional experience and/or relevant Federal or State Executive Branch experience preferred Job Overview

This role plans, directs and manages the environmental, health and safety programs under senior management direction, recognizing, evaluating, recommending and implementing policies and procedures to ensure awareness of and compliance with environmental requirements of the organization. Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develops and provides basic environmental training to employees Plans, develops and directs the personnel within the Environmental function of the organization Ensures quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulations Provides all necessary reports to Federal, State and local agencies Keeps abreast of existing and proposed changes in environmental regulations Provides leadership direction to management and professional personnel in the organization Reviews and incorporates environmental standards promulgated by regulatory authorities Performs other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications

Required Bachelor's Degree Experience: 10+ years Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years Preferred Qualifications
