Overview
The Associate Fraud Strategy Data Scientist will support fraud detection, risk analysis, and loss mitigation through data analysis, predictive modeling, and strategy development. This role partners with product and engineering teams to design fraud solutions that balance risk control with customer experience.
What you’ll do
Design and refine fraud detection and mitigation rules
Develop Python scripts, models, and dashboards to support fraud strategies
Investigate large or novel fraud cases and identify root causes
Partner with product and engineering teams to enhance fraud control capabilities
Present fraud strategies and guide execution across stakeholders
Analyze fraud KPIs and report outcomes through dashboards and visualizations
Collaborate cross-functionally to implement real-time fraud solutions at scale
What we’re looking for
Has up to 2 years of experience in risk analytics, data science, or fraud/risk management (eCommerce, payments, or fraud investigation experience)
Holds a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Is proficient in SQL, Python, Excel, and data science libraries
Has experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
Can work with large datasets and translate complex results into actionable insights
Communicates clearly with technical teams, business partners, and executives
Thrives in ambiguity and drives projects toward measurable outcomes
Has experience with AWS, fraud investigations, rule systems, or ML collaboration
