About the Role

Director of People at Datavations. As a Director of People, you’ll play a critical role in shaping our employee experience, operationalizing HR processes, and ensuring we scale our people infrastructure thoughtfully and compliantly. You’ll own core HR operations and partner with leadership, managers, and employees to create a workplace where people thrive and to attract and retain top talent. Past experience in a SaaS startup environment is important to hit the ground running in this essential role. Responsibilities & Skills

People Operations & HR Infrastructure: Design and implement scalable HR systems, processes, and policies across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, benefits, etc.). HRIS & Tools: Own and optimize our HRIS and related tools (Justworks as PEO; Greenhouse for ATS). HR Metrics: Maintain and analyze HR metrics to guide decisions across talent. Compensation: Partner with finance on compensation plans and structures aligned to business goals. Benefits Knowledge: Ability to answer benefits questions and know where to go for further questions. Employee Experience: Manage onboarding/offboarding, develop internal communications and culture initiatives, and support actions based on drivers for employees. Employee Support: Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and issues; assist with problem resolution; support team events to foster connections. Manager Coaching & Performance: Equip managers with tools for effective team management; support performance reviews, goal setting, and career development; foster a continuous feedback culture. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with employment laws; maintain up-to-date policies and employee handbook; manage records and state-based compliance; collaborate with Finance and Legal on payroll, equity, and compliance. Performance & Development: Lead performance review cycles and feedback framework; evolve processes to align with company goals; coach managers in development initiatives. Recruitment Leadership: Lead recruitment efforts to attract top technical talent; focus on candidate pipeline, employer branding, and the candidate and manager experience. Experience & Qualifications

6+ years of HR/People Ops experience in a startup or SaaS environment; preferably with a hybrid work model. Experience with HR systems and compliance; deep understanding of HR best practices and multi-state employment laws (US). Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Discrete, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive information; strong verbal and written communication skills. Strategic and hands-on: able to set vision while executing day-to-day; you will join as part of a two-person team. Experience understanding compensation plans, benefits, and market data. Ability to work in a hybrid model; in-office on Tue-Thu in NYC. Preferred Location
