Performs comprehensive acute care for patients with orthopedic conditions. Provides pre- and post-operative care, assists in orthopedic surgeries, rounds on inpatients, and consults on ER patients. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and prescribes medications and therapies as needed. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive acute care to patients with orthopedic conditions. Assist with the surgical management of acute orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-operative care. First assist in orthopedic surgeries. Round on inpatients, contributing to high quality and coordinated care. Consult on ER patients, providing diagnosis, plans of care and referrals as appropriate. Order, interpret and analyze diagnostic tests. Prescribe and administer medications and physical therapy as necessary. Splint, cast and brace injuries as indicated; perform wound closures and dressing. Additional Responsibilities
Primary point of contact and assume responsibilities for managing patient care. Take first call after hours and weekends for all patients on service (ICU/Floor/Tele and after-hours clinic calls). Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement for patient care. Work within a multidisciplinary team. Additional duties as assigned by clinical or operational leadership. Job Requirements
Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:
Degree as a Physician Assistant Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program Background in pre-med preferred Minimum 3 years orthopedic PA experience, preferably in an acute setting AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License NCCPA certification Valid DEA registration Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:
Master's Degree in nursing; graduate of an accredited NP program Compact state or Arizona RN license; Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license Surgical First Assist certification Minimum 3 years orthopedic NP experience, preferably in an acute setting National NP certification (AZ regulations): NP-AACN, NP-AANP, NP-ANCC, or NP-PNCB Valid DEA registration Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff For the health of our community, we are a tobacco-free campus. Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona seeks a per diem Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Chandler, AZ team. Chandler Regional Medical Center is a full-service, Level 1 trauma center in the East Valley. This is an employed, flexible opportunity to work at least 5 shifts per month. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. DHMG employs approximately 300 providers and 850 support staff across many specialties.
