Senior Director, Association Governance Operations Salary Range (Non-Negotiable):

$149,261– $165,845 Description The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and strategic oversight related to association governance, leadership development, volunteer management, honors and awards, and to direct the operations of the programs administered by the Association Governance Operations Team. Further, the incumbent is responsible for the operations and activities of the Association's Board of Directors, and governance and discipline-related committees. Responsibilities Conceive, implement, and evaluate initiatives and project plans to strengthen, facilitate and integrate the Association's governance structure and process. Assess requirements, develop, and facilitate communication strategies in support of issues and activities related to programs administered by the Association Governance Operations Team. Facilitate the accurate and timely conduct of national elections to maintain official representation on the Board of Directors, and the appointment of members of most committees, boards, and councils (CBCs); oversee onboarding of new CBC leadership and develop and facilitate ongoing training for staff liaisons to association CBCs. Provide direction and guidance to Director, Leadership Development and Volunteer Management in establishing and implementing enterprise leadership development strategies and establishing and maintaining systems for managing volunteer opportunities for ASHA members and affiliates that align with ASHA priorities. Facilitate the conduct of the Association's awards program. Serve as the CEO’s appointee and ex officio to appointed committees and groups; provide expert consultation in collaboration with legal counsel and parliamentarian support relative to governance to enhance the operations of the National Office and the Association. Develop and manage budgets for the governance program, the Board of Directors, and governance committees. Lead and coach the governance operations team members to enhance their contributions to ASHA’s strategic priorities. Qualifications Knowledge Typically Acquired Through 6 to 8 years of progressively responsible work experience in association management and/or nonprofit administration and management familiarity with communication sciences and disorders and rehabilitation professions graduate degree in nonprofit management, leadership development, or organizational development Certified Association Executive (CAE) preferred Skills Demonstrated knowledge of parliamentary procedures and governance principles, frameworks, and guidelines Demonstrated knowledge of leadership development programming Proven ability to independently and confidently manage sensitive and confidential matters Proven ability to lead projects and work teams to accomplish projects and to collaborate with staff and volunteers Well-developed oral and written communication skills Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex projects and tasks Well-developed interpersonal and team facilitation and supervision skills Facility with Microsoft Office software programs (e.g., MS Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point) and association management and mentoring databases e.g., (netForum, Open Water, Chronus, LineUp)
