Our team makes global HR feel seamless by crafting the experience of Remote’s product. The design team is on a mission to differentiate Remote through high-quality design and user experience. We practice end-to-end product design—from research, insight gathering and strategy to delivering beautifully crafted interfaces with measurable impact. Design is at the forefront of everything we do. The Head of Design will own the creative vision for the Remote brand, contribute to brand definition and user experience principles, establish design processes, manage design projects, oversee the Design department and set the bar for quality. What you bring

Extensive track record of leading and overseeing design teams, including senior staff and senior design leaders, ideally at a tech company for branding and enterprise application design. Experience leading initiatives from interpreting design briefs, conceptualisation, setting creative direction, establishing goals, and executing projects to a high standard. Impressive portfolio showing branding, design aesthetics, and excellent UX/UI; ability to lead a design department across these areas. Strong working knowledge of product design, typography, website design and other visual design disciplines, brand development and the creative process. Fluency in product design trends and leading design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. A kind, empathetic and patient person who cares about diversity and inclusion. Fluent English in writing and speaking. Key Responsibilities

Provide the creative vision, direction and leadership for the Design department. Build, inspire and mentor a team of world-class talent and oversee their outputs end-to-end. Own and develop creative programs and design concepts to meet Remote's creative vision, branding and business objectives. Champion user-centered design, user experience, design-led thinking and best practices across the business. Lead concept development, provide creative input, set high-quality standards, and troubleshoot design issues as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Marketing) on brand partnerships and creative projects. Work on design assets as required. Use quantitative data and qualitative feedback to inform design decisions. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools. Practicals

Remote’s Total Rewards philosophy ensures fair, unbiased compensation and fair equity pay along with competitive benefits in all locations. We pay above in-location rates and aim to inspire other companies to support global talent-hiring and local wealth in developing countries. Salary ranges are geo-based to reflect geographic pay differentials while remaining competitive in global markets. Base salary for this full-time role ranges from $90,000 to $200,000 USD, with actual pay determined by location, skills, experience, training, business needs, and market conditions.
