Position Summary Staff Physical Therapist, ACC. The successful candidate is responsible for evaluating physical therapy needs and implementing comprehensive, medically prescribed physical therapy treatment to assigned patients in a supervised rehabilitation program.

Job Responsibilities

Initial assessment and evaluation of physical therapy needs for assigned patient populations. Review medical charts to obtain important medical information; clarify referral and treatment orders as needed. Select appropriate assessment tools to determine patient status and develop an optimal treatment plan. Demonstrate clinical decision making and adjust the treatment plan as appropriate.

Implement treatment plans and protocols according to current professional standards. Establish achievable treatment goals with patient and family. Consider validated treatment approaches and rationales to achieve patient goals. Select appropriate assistive devices and refer patients to other clinical services to meet treatment goals. Assess educational needs of patients and families and provide education during rehabilitation.

Complete all required documentation for patient care and reimbursement. Maintain medical chart documentation in accordance with department guidelines and JACHO/CARF requirements. Ensure clinical documentation is thorough and uses appropriate medical terminology.

Participate in clinical education of fieldwork students and other professional educational activities. Teach and supervise students in techniques, skills, and procedures; foster positive learning experiences for career opportunity students and non-fieldwork students.

Maintain a certain level of patient care productivity as indicated by unit procedures. Demonstrate the ability to provide expected patient contact as reflected in productivity reports and patient contact analysis. Maintain ongoing proficiency in skills required to treat the assigned patient population.

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. • New York State Physical Therapy license or temporary permit. • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Licenses Phys Therapist Temporary Permit – NYS; Phys Therapist License – NYS

Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.

Salary Information NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $88,558.95 - $102,838.20 annually. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
