Stanford Health Care, Menlo Park, CA. What You Will Do

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of emergency drills and full-scale or functional emergency exercises. Translate lengthy text documents into clear, concise emergency response algorithms for training and response of hospital and clinic staff. Provide project management support and help lead components of the emergency management governance structure, including response, function, and hazard-specific subcommittees and workgroups. Develop and present reports to leadership. Interpret, mark up, and leverage facility floorplans and regional hazard maps to inform site-specific emergency response plans for hospitals and offsite clinics and business occupancies. Investigate, research, and make recommendations based on emergency management best practices and lessons learned from recent incidents. Design, develop, coordinate and conduct hospital-wide and site-specific training in emergency management, response, and recovery for all levels of personnel. Design and produce online and printed resources to train staff for their emergency response roles. Manage distribution and audit compliance of current documents. Coordinate department leaders’ development of department-specific continuity of operations plans to minimize disruption and help ensure continued safe, quality patient care in a disaster or major emergency. Collaborate with OEM team members and colleagues across the organization to execute all phases of exercise/event/incident management, including organization, setup, participation, and debriefing/issue resolution. Write policies, procedures, plans, and quality improvement (QI) reports for the emergency management program to ensure regulatory compliance. Analyze and manage data for the emergency management program to support reports and analysis of program efforts. Participate in on-call rotation duties for the Office of Emergency Management. Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Required). Completion of FEMA Independent Study Courses within 30 days of employment: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700. Experience

Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience (Required). Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Design and implement recovery strategies to reduce vulnerabilities and restore functionality after disasters. Write and maintain Business Continuity Plans, incorporating data analysis and recovery strategies. Knowledge of testing and maintaining business continuity plans; provide education to management and staff. Manage Business Continuity Systems and technology, Mass Notification Systems, and conduct Business Impact Analysis. Proficiency in complex databases and Excel; advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to report for duty on a 24-hour basis when needed. Licenses and Certifications

CADL - California Driver’s License (in-state) on hire. HAM - Ham Radio Operator License required within 60 days. Equal Opportunity

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $62.75 - $83.16 per hour. Final salary determined based on factors including internal equity, experience, education, and training.
