Prisma Access (formerly GlobalProtect Cloud Service) provides protection straight from the cloud to secure access. It combines connectivity and security for cloud services, on-premise networks, and mobile users using cutting-edge cloud technologies. We are seeking an experienced Big Data Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver next-generation technologies within our Prisma Access team. We want engineers who love to code, build products, and contribute ideas across software development. Collaboration and teamwork are foundational, and we seek engineers who communicate well and work toward a common goal. This role is located at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters. Your Impact
Design, develop and implement highly scalable software features on our next-generation security platform as part of Prisma Access. Collaborate with development and quality assurance groups to achieve high quality. Suggest and implement improvements to the development process. Work with DevOps and Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues. Qualifications
Your Experience At least 6+ years of development experience. Experience in developing services in the cloud/Kubernetes. Experience with building data pipelines and analytics pipelines using technologies like Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GKE. Strong understanding of message queuing, stream processing, and scalable big data stores. Experience with RESTful interfaces and build tools (Gradle, Maven). Experience in CI/CD and design. Experience with Test-Driven Development. Experience with distributed computing and object-oriented design and analysis. Strong understanding of microservices-based deployments and service design. Full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, peer review, and operations. Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum). Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Hive, Kafka, Hadoop, SQL, and API development. Experience with GCP or other cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. High energy with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a can-do attitude. Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams. Fast learner and eager to absorb new technologies. M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. The Team
