Overview
GAI Consultants is seeking an Assistant Engineering Director for a leadership position within their statewide Transportation practice. The candidate will have significant client interaction and the ability to identify and develop a marketing strategy for winning specific project opportunities. Responsibilities
Lead the business development strategy along with oversight of engineers in the development of plans, financial monitoring, and acting as GAI’s client leadership representative. Perform advisory or consulting work across broad project areas or within specialized areas with innovative/complex aspects. Oversee multiple large or multidiscipline project teams and develop projects needed for the practice objectives. Evaluate project management plans for complex engineering projects and develop risk mitigation plans to address project risks. Assess the effectiveness of leaders and teams and manage projects, up to $250,000 in yearly value, as a component of overall work. Develop organizational strategy for staff development through mentored experience, continuing education, and self-development. Negotiate critical issues with leadership and represent the organization at important functions and conferences. Qualifications
20+ years of Project Management on complex roadway design projects for FDOT and other local agencies throughout Florida. Knowledge and experience with FDOT D5, Florida’s Turnpike, and CFX; other FDOT district experience and Design-Build expertise are a plus. PE Registration in Florida is required. Ability to develop and execute a marketing strategy for winning project opportunities. Education & Licensure
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering; master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) License with reciprocity in multiple states. Driver's License. Company Benefits
