KalVista is a global pharmaceutical company dedicated to delivering life-changing oral therapies for individuals affected by rare diseases with significant unmet needs. EKTERLY—a novel oral on-demand treatment for hereditary angioedema (HAE)—is developed to improve treatment and care for this disease worldwide. This role is a full-time hybrid position for a Corporate Controller, responsible for the general ledger close, consolidation of multiple foreign entities, supervising and training accounting staff, internal controls, and a variety of accounting projects. The Corporate Controller will ensure proper monthly general ledger procedures are performed, including processing and reviewing journal entries, and the preparation of supporting schedules, analyses, and documentation. Responsibilities

Lead, inspire and develop staff by building engagement, providing feedback and growth opportunities, and holding the team accountable; mentor and coach direct reports. Ensure the accounting team adheres to deadlines to ensure a timely close. Work with business partners to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information. Oversee and review accounting operations for international entities and consolidations. Partner with the Technical Accounting/Financial Reporting group. Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations and analyses for international entities, intercompany transactions, consolidations, and certain R&D accruals and other accounts. Produce monthly/quarterly internal and external reporting and assist with budget-to-actual analyses. Assist with technical accounting research and special projects; update formal internal control documentation as needed. Assist with preparation for annual audits and quarterly reviews, including interaction with auditors and tax consultants. Participate in system and process improvements to enhance efficiency; create and update policies and process documents as needed. Handle ad hoc analyses and other special projects as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; 10–15 years of experience. Experience at publicly traded commercial-stage life sciences/pharmaceutical companies. Strong track record in people management. CPA preferred, with experience in a National CPA firm. Broad knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal controls. ERP systems experience: Sage Intacct, SAP inventory accounting, Concur; knowledge of ZIP procure to pay. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the business.
