Overview
Senior Model Validation Analyst – Compliance & Financial Crimes (AML, Cybersecurity, Fair Lending) – U.S. Bank. This is an individual contributor role in the Bank's Second Line of Defense Risk Management and Compliance organization, supporting the Model Risk Management (MRM) program. The Analyst validates models related to Compliance and Financial Crimes (including Anti-Money Laundering, Cybersecurity, Economic Sanctions / OFAC, and Fair Lending), and may interface with regulators and internal auditors to discuss validation outcomes. Responsibilities
Independently challenge the model\'s conceptual framework, methodology, data integrity and usage, implementation framework, governance, and ongoing performance during validation. Generate reporting to document observations and present them to model owners and developers; identify material concerns or weaknesses. Track corrective actions by model risk owners and follow remediation progress. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in a quantitative field with at least 8 years of relevant experience OR MA / MS in a quantitative field with five or more years of related experience OR PhD in a quantitative field with four or more years of related experience Preferred Skills / Experience
Self-motivated, able to work with varying levels of guidance Strong mathematical and statistical modeling or model validation experience Advanced understanding of applicable compliance laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends affecting the assigned line of business Prior exposure to validation or development of models in BSA / AML, Cybersecurity, Fair Lending, Economic Sanctions, etc. Ability to build relationships with stakeholders across multiple levels and backgrounds Working knowledge of various Machine Learning methods Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex ideas in simple, non-technical language Strong mathematical analysis skills using statistical methods and techniques Understanding of internal MRM policies and regulatory guidance to confirm compliance Ability to read, interpret, and apply internal MRM policies and regulatory rules Note:
