The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a

Physician - Nephrologist . The Physician - Nephrologist will function in the Nephrology department within Medicine Service. The incumbent will provide patient care (outpatient and inpatient) for chronic and end-stage kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base disorders. As an academic nephrologist, the incumbent will be an active participant in the education and research mission of the VA. The candidate must be board eligible or board certified in Nephrology. Transplant nephrology training is preferred. LSCVAMC is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University and the applicant will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Education, Training & Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA employees who met basic requirements at the time of initial appointment are deemed to have met them for the occupation. United States Citizenship:

Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens per VA policy. Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an LCME- or AOA-accredited school; or ECFMG verification for foreign medical graduates where applicable. License:

Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Residency & Board:

Completion of an accredited residency training program leading to eligibility for board certification. VA may require board certification for faculty status; for academic appointments, board certification is often expected. English Proficiency:

Proficiency in spoken and written English. Other:

May require a probationary period, background/security investigation, and pre-employment checks; participation in online onboarding and acceptable I-9 documentation may be required; seasonal influenza vaccination is required for health care personnel. Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP):

This position may be eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program. Program specifics (award amount and eligibility period) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
