Addictions Physician or Addictions Psychiatrist (M67779) Department of Psychiatry, VCU Health - Richmond, VA Mission or Goal of Unit:
The mission of the Division of Addictions Psychiatry is to advance research, education, and clinical care for patients with addictions. Chief Purpose of this position:
The Department of Psychiatry and Division of Addictions Psychiatry are seeking applicants to provide addiction services to patients at VCU Health System and teach addiction psychiatry/medicine. Position Responsibilities
Teaching and Administration:
10% for teaching and teaching-related activities. This educational effort shall include medical students, residents, fellows, and colleagues in addictions psychiatry and other colleagues where appropriate. Teaching responsibilities also shall include preparation and presentation of instructional materials, lectures, evaluative materials, testing and maintenance of personal professional skills through continuing education, advising, and mentoring trainees, and attendance at Grand Rounds. Clinical:
90% for clinical addictions activities in addiction medicine. Work effort distribution is subject to change based on clinical need and research funding. Required Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry Virginia license/licensure-eligible DEA certification Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU. Demonstrated history of working with patients with addictions
