36507 Note: This position is with the Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Fort Logan (CMHIFL), a 94-bed adult inpatient psychiatric facility operated by the Colorado Department of Human Services. CMHIFL serves a diverse patient population with a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach. The position is not located on Anschutz Medical Campus. Work Location:
In person at the Fort Logan campus in Denver. Key Responsibilities
Provides needed treatment to patients. Work with integrated care teams that include mental and physical health professionals to provide seamless continuum of care. Collaborate with other team members and evaluate diagnosis and treatment protocols to ensure the best patient care. Provide consultation to integrated care team members to help diagnose, assess and treat complex behavioral health conditions in an inpatient facility. Provide input in the creation of individual patient treatment plans and adjust as needed for enhanced patient response. Diagnose mental health conditions based on patient history, discussions with the patient, and information from relatives and other health professionals. Assess patients and prescribe pharmaceutical interventions on an ongoing basis for behavioral, emotional, or mental disorders. Recommend diagnostic and laboratory tests to learn additional information about physical and/or mental health and improvement over time. Discuss treatment protocols and diagnoses with patient caregivers and advise as appropriate. Examples of Work Performed
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Work with integrated care teams that include mental and physical health professionals, such as physicians, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to provide seamless continuum of care. Collaborate with other members of the team and evaluate their diagnosis and treatment protocols upon request to ensure the best in patient care. Provide consultation to integrated care team members to help diagnose, assess and treat complex behavioral health conditions in an inpatient facility. Provide input in the creation of individual patient treatment plans that incorporate multiple treatment methodologies and adjust as needed for enhanced patient response. Diagnose mental health conditions based on patient health history, discussions with the patient and information provided from relatives and other health professionals. Assess patients and prescribe pharmaceutical interventions, as appropriate, on an ongoing basis for treatment of behavioral, emotional, or mental disorders. Minimum Qualifications: MD/DO, CO Physician License or eligible for a CO Physician License Board Eligible or Certified in Psychiatry Proficiency in telepsychiatry Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Forensic populations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students.
