The pediatric surgical APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team and functions as a member of the surgical management team. In conjunction with the attending, the APP will oversee care from clinic to OR/inpatient to discharge and throughout all aspects of the continuum of care. As this is a pediatric service, the APP will assist both with patient and family care and help support the whole unit as they move through the UK system. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and ensures an environment of safe quality care. This position requires systems thinking and a high level of clinical skill. Qualifications
Required Related Experience: 1 yr Required License/Registration/Certification: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP-AC) certification or enrollment in post graduate certificate program within one year of hire or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) Physical Requirements: The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting, standing, walking, with some pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10 lbs and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
