Reporting to the Director of Engineering, New Venture, you will take on a high-visibility, high-impact role as a Staff Software Engineer for a new product initiative. In this 0-to-1 team, you’ll have autonomy to drive technical decisions and influence the direction of product development. You’ll collaborate closely with R&D leadership to design and execute high-priority projects that support our mission of transforming mental healthcare. This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational member of an empowered, purpose-driven team working on an innovative early-stage product. Responsibilities

Lead a high-impact 0-1 product initiative, acting as a technical leader and contributing across various facets of engineering. Autonomy to explore creative solutions and advance what’s possible. Work with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, data scientists, and marketers to rapidly innovate, ensuring the product aligns with the company’s mission and goals. Partner with the GM, Engineering Managers, and CTO to establish technical standards, set a clear vision, and create scalable software architecture, with ownership over key decisions. Break down complex requirements into manageable, incremental deliverables, delivering high-quality work. Prioritize and manage project timelines, ensuring successful delivery with autonomy in day-to-day decisions. Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive leadership in these areas. Cultivate a deep understanding of our products, users, and the broader impact on mental healthcare, ensuring work aligns with a clear sense of purpose. Pivot and adapt solutions based on feedback or new insights, communicating changes clearly to the team and maintaining momentum. Manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs in complex project delivery, keeping the larger mission in focus. Collaborate with a passionate team on special projects, where you’ll experience autonomy, growth, and purpose in every aspect of your work. What Success Looks Like In This Role

Help launch an innovative, high-impact mental health product within the first 2 quarters. Establish trust and connections within the team and across the organization. Build scalable architectures that support future growth and integrations. Elevate the standards of engineering excellence and proactively identify opportunities for improvement. Contribute to building a thriving team culture. What We Expect From You

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a proven track record of delivering successful products, ideally in healthcare. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and purpose-driven environment. Strong ability to navigate ambiguity with a bias toward autonomy and decision-making. Experience in startup environments. Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced setting where autonomy and mastery are valued. Nice-to-have: experience in healthcare, mental-health tech, or applied AI/ML; familiarity with TypeScript, Ruby, and/or Python. The target base salary range for this position is $200,800 - $245,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits.
