The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Division of Pediatric Neurology is seeking a BE/BC neurologist for experienced Assistant, Associate, and Professor level appointments with strong interest in clinical trials, research, and clinical service in Child Neurology to join our faculty. Responsibilities
The position’s responsibilities include participation in ongoing robust pediatric neurology and neurodevelopmental clinical trials through the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities and the UNC Neurology Clinical Trials Unit. This position is expected to allow the physician to grow and direct further clinical trials in pediatric cohorts within the investigator’s fields of interest. The division is committed to clinical excellence, education, and research, and ongoing growth with competitive salaries and comprehensive support for faculty career development including academics and research. We provide opportunities for faculty development and support for grant efforts. The program offers a comprehensive epilepsy level IV service with multidisciplinary approaches including epilepsy surgery, VNS (vagus nerve stimulation), and ketogenic diet. The department collaborates with programs such as the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities, TEACCH Autism Program, North Carolina Neuroscience Center, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and other affiliates. There are subspecialty clinics and research collaborations across pediatric medicine and child psychiatry centers. There are ongoing efforts to develop additional programs (e.g., neonatal neurology, pediatric stroke, and neurocritical care) with strong institutional support. North Carolina Children’s Hospital / UNC Health Care is a major pediatric center with extensive subspecialty clinics, beds, and trauma capability. The area offers opportunities for professional and personal balance in a vibrant academic community near the Raleigh-Durham area. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience : Candidates must have an M.D., D.O. or equivalent and be board certified/board eligible.
