Overview

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine seeks a full-time (100% FTE) Associate or full Professor, WOT (without tenure by reason of funding) Interventional Cardiologist to lead the Interventional Cardiology section at UW. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. Associate and full Professor WOT hold indefinite appointments with a 12-month service period (July 1–June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months over the 12-month period, providing one month of paid time off. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2026. Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to lead a nationally-renowned Interventional Cardiology program within an academic health system committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and cardiovascular research. The section head will: Guides strategy and operations of the interventional and structural heart programs in collaboration with the Cardiology Division Head and Heart Institute Medical and Surgical Directors. Supervises the catheterization laboratory directors at UWMC‑Montlake, UWMC‑Northwest, and Harborview Medical Center. Mentors the academic careers of interventional faculty within a culture of innovation, with extensive collaboration with cardiac surgeons and cardiac anesthesiologists to grow cutting-edge interventional cardiology services. Performs interventional and/or structural heart procedures in the catheterization lab and provides outpatient or inpatient consults for interventional and/or structural procedures at UWMC. Leads didactic and hands-on procedural teaching in the catheterization lab for cardiology, interventional, structural, and complex high-risk/indicated PCI (CHIP) fellows. Qualifications

MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Board certified/eligible in interventional cardiology (or foreign equivalent). Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Demonstrated record of research and publication; positive factors include involvement in clinical trials. Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is $20,000–$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS) and incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan.
