Clinical Nurse III: C8: Post Cardiothoracic Surgery Department/Unit: Post Cardiothoracic Surgery - C8 Work Shift: Night (United States of America) Salary Range: $88,192.00 - $136,697.60 Hourly Range: $36.73 - $60.93 An opportunity to join a high-functioning, dedicated team committed to excellent quality patient care. The post cardiothoracic surgical unit includes patients undergoing cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiac catheterization, structural heart interventional procedures, electrophysiology procedures, and patients requiring a higher level of telemetry monitoring. The unit offers room to grow in nursing practice; open to new RN graduates as well as experienced RNs looking to expand skills. Advanced skills preferred but not required: cardiac rhythm interpretation and management, familiarity with vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications, and management of chest tubes. Responsibilities
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documents treatment as required by policy and regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions. Assesses and evaluates patient needs for and responses to care rendered. Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions. Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered. Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate) Current New York State Registered Nurse license Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving tools; ability to apply to departmental and patient care quality improvement Equal Opportunity
