The Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is recruiting for Child Psychiatrists who participate in a multidisciplinary team to provide treatment to child and adolescent patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Essential duties include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments/evaluations and mental status examinations (MSEs) of child/adolescent patients, developing and implementing individualized mental health treatment plans, providing psychotropic medication treatment and other psychiatric treatments, and performing related tasks as required. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments/evaluations and MSEs of child/adolescent patients. Develop and implement individualized mental health treatment plans for assigned patients. Provide competent psychotropic medication management and other psychiatric treatments as needed. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team in an outpatient clinic setting. Perform related tasks as required. Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of medicine. Residency: Completion of a psychiatry residency approved by the ACGME; certificate of completion must be submitted. Applicants within 12 months of residency completion may apply with verification of anticipated completion date. License: Valid Physician and Surgeons certificate issued by the Medical Board of California or Osteopathic Medical Board of California; number and expiration date must be provided. Certification: Valid DEA certificate. Board Certification: Diplomate or eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Experience: Preferably with seriously mentally ill, eating disorders, and underserved populations; multidisciplinary team collaboration experience is desirable. Languages: Fluency in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese encouraged; bilingual skills may yield additional compensation. Work Schedule: Evening and weekend shifts are available for some assignments (voluntary). Residency Verification: Official offers require verification of residency completion date; contingent offers may be issued within 12 months of residency completion. Teaching: Incumbents may supervise/teach medical learners. Background Check: Extensive check including credit, fingerprint/LiveScan, DMV; U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
