Essential Functions
Serves as Associate Deputy Director of Therapeutic and Transitional Placements.
Directs and coordinates the functions and activities of all processes associated with statewide programs for placement services.
Serves as liaison with leadership, private organizations, other state agencies, and the general public.
Serves as full line supervisor.
Represents the Deputy Director at various Departmental, public, and private meetings and court proceedings, with authority to commit the Department to policy action.
Meets with management team members on a periodic basis.
Performs other duties as required within the scope of the above duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a master’s degree in social work from a recognized college or university.
Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Four years of professional experience managing or conducting placement services.
Four years of professional experience working with residential/group home/independent living/transitional living/foster care placement programs.
Four years of experience supervising professional staff.
Four years of professional experience working in a social work field related to child welfare or child protection.
Four years of professional experience administering a social work program.
Four years of professional experience conducting training for professional staff.
Conditions of Employment
Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties; valid driver's license required.
Revolving door restrictions may apply per 5 ILCS 430/5-45; notification to OEIG may be required for non-State employment offers during/state employment or within one year after ending State employment.
Filing requirements under the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act; annual Statements of Economic Interest may be required.
