We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the team. As a developer on the team, you will be responsible for delivering seamless and efficient experiences for Amazon's global grocery business. With a focus on efficiency, scalability, and customer-centric solutions, the Grocery Experience team plays a strategic role in shaping the future of Amazon's global grocery business. We’re an agile shop: we work closely with users, deliver features with high frequency, can pivot when needed, and are passionate about test coverage, refactoring and paying off technical debt. Responsibilities
Design and implement low-latency, scalable solutions across the tech stack, including frontend (JavaScript, CSS, hybrid frameworks), middle tier (Java, Spring), and backend (non-relational databases and AWS services). Collaborate with teams in Checkout, Payments, Inventory, and Fulfillment to build integrated solutions that enhance grocery operations. Work with business teams to develop localized features tailored to specific marketplaces. Continuously improve existing systems, focusing on test coverage, refactoring, and reducing technical debt. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to solve complex operational challenges. Deliver features with agility, contributing to a highly collaborative and innovative team environment. Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
